I'm into week 4 of my Running 101 schedule. I can tell a difference, which is encouraging! I've moved on from 1 minute bursts of running that killed me, to 3 minute bursts of running that aren't so bad.
On the diet front, however, I'm stalled. I'm still eating South Beach style, but I've hit a wall on the weight loss. That's the most discouraging of all since I still want to lose 30 more pounds.
Don't get too discouraged. Running will help you gain muscle and muscle can weigh more than fat. You should also try and measure the different areas of your body that you would like to lose. Inches lost can sometimes give you a more accurate feel of how you are doing instead of pounds. I wish it was warm enough here in Massachusetts to start running again!
