..and I am a Material Girl

Brenda felt the need to take out a 4 x 5.5 inch ad that appeared on page 2 of the local section of the paper advertising her lost Kate Spade purse. Poor B... she needs to stop carrying expensive gifts in her expensive purse in case she happens to lose it or it gets stolen. She also needs to sort out her priorities... I've had my purse stolen before, and the iPod wouldn't be the first thing on that list of importance regardless of who gave it to me. She needs to worry about canceling her cards and such. And, $1000 reward (not the to mention the cost of running the ad)? Man, the woman can afford to replace practically everything she lost. And, it couldn't hurt to hire a proofreader while she's at it. Maybe it's just me... but this annoyed me a whole lot more than it should have.

And baby makes three.

mich_luke No, I haven't gone and had a baby! Over the weekend, I met my oldest & best(est) friend's newborn baby. I always tell people I've known Sarah since the womb, because our moms knew each other from their sorority alumni group here in town before either of us were born. But, we've literally been close friends since pre-school. At the end of July she gave birth to her first baby -- a son named Luke. Our schedules finally worked out and I got to visit with them. Luke is the most well-behaved six week old I've ever been around: not fussy, hardly cried (and when he did, it was a low, non-piercing sound). He let me hold him for a long time without getting antsy, right up until feeding time when Sarah had to take him to begin nursing. He's got the biggest deep blue eyes, just like his mom... who I think he's favoring more right now.

Now, I've just got to start knitting her that baby blanket. I told her to be expecting it for a Christmas present... now I have to really get serious about finding the right pattern and yarn!

Bro's Wedding

Since I flaked out entirely, and didn't take a single photo during my brother's wedding or reception, I'm going to borrow (without permission, but hopefully not a problem) the photos that Steve's friend Lee Anne took (thank you!).

The wedding and reception was held at the Wedding Chapel of Chattanooga and the Dent House -- a small chapel and a historic home. All our photos were taken outside on the grounds -- very picturesque!

Brandi let us choose our own top portions of our dresses, which ended up looking pretty neat.
