Happy Halloween!

pumpkins04.gif

I carved my mini pumpkin yesterday. I waited until the last minute, since last year my pumpkin went moldy and was thrown out before the 31st.

I successfully roasted the seeds from the pumpkin. I adapted a recipe I found on the Low Carber Forums and it worked pretty well. After 20 minutes, I instead added some spray butter and the cinnamon-Splenda mix straight onto the seeds in the baking sheet, stirred it around and returned it to the oven and let them cook until they looked done. Yummy treat!

One-Fingered Victory Salute

Speaking of losers.

More loser, less posts

While watching another episode of The Biggest Loser, and wondering where in the heck I'd seen one of the girls (Lisa) before -- turns out, I went to college with her! She was in my sorority even, but got kicked out (or dropped out, I'm not sure which) after a few weeks. Anyway, it's kind of weird.

The Biggest Loser

We watched this new reality show tonight called "The Biggest Loser" about a group of people competing to lose the most weight. It reminded me that I haven't updated my dieting progress in a long, long time... Still sticking with the whole South Beach diet and liking it. I've lost 45 pounds since the end of January this year. Sadly, I still have more to go, but that's a big nice chunk that wasn't painful to get rid of.

It's raining hard (a lot!) in Los Angeles. I know sunshine and blue skies are great and all, but I really welcome the rare times when it actually rains more than a little sprinkle.

Got some knitting photos to update (ponchos, anyone?), when I get around to it. And, I turn 28 in a week. eek!

yet, another AOL promo container

I rescued an abandoned AOL CD promo case from the mailbox center, that someone had left behind. It's even better than the "pressboard" ones I got a few months ago. This one has a cover flap that has a magnetic strip on the edge to hold it shut! And, it's deep too -- I fit 6 CDs inside it. Hmm... must find something to cover it in.

Craft Project: Knitting Needles & Notions Organizer

knitorganizer.gif

I spent this weekend hunched over my sewing machine (my back is not happy with me right now!) finally making a case to hold my knitting supplies in. I bought the fabric for this project over a year ago and decided it was time to organize my knitting basket. The results are okay, despite the fact that I made this up as I went along. It took a lot of time figuring out where and when to sew, lots of pinning and un-pinning and ironing... but it got done, and it holds all my knitting supplies.
