i really should figure out a way to post a little chart to the side somewhere, rather than taking up space here... but anyway, diet is still on. i've lost just over 40 pounds, 40-1/2 actually, in 5+ months. we went back onto the first "phase" of the south beach diet to kick start some weight loss again, which means removing all fruit, whole wheats (bread, pasta) brown rice/couscous, etc... i'm tired of this phase and am ready to move back to the 2nd one (which will happen on wednesday).
other than that... i got another one of those "wood" aol cd boxes. i need to do something crafty with those things.
First time commenting...
I actually discovered your site quite a few months ago trying to find someone else who got one of the pressboard aol boxes. I stripped, recovered, and lined mine with velvet. I'm using it to store a necklace I was given (and don't wear too often).
Congrats on the weight loss. I noticed a self esteem boost since I have lost weight. Maybe that's in my head though.

Posted by: rachel at June 28, 2004 11:44 AMI recently dieted, too, to lose about 40 pounds. I started in November '03 and finished in May. My method was calorie counting. Good luck and keep it up.
Posted by: Wild Bill at June 29, 2004 05:37 PMToday is my first day in Phase 1, do you know if corn tortillas are considered a bread? I know its a dumb question but I never acctually thought about it until now!
Posted by: Lora at June 30, 2004 02:04 PMAnything made with flour is not going to be allowed in Phase 1 -- so you wouldn't be able to eat the tortillas. In Phase 2, you can have them, but you would only want to stick with whole wheat tortillas.

Posted by: michelle at July 5, 2004 12:03 PM40 pounds?? You are my inspiration. The diet is going great now. I got through my caffiene withdrawal and I am over my sugar dependency. There is clear sailing ahead!
