now, about the soft drinks. i don't drink carbonated drinks very often, but when i do i'll drink diet sprite and diet rite. diet rite is the only soft drink i'm aware of that uses splenda (a sugar substitute) instead of sugar in their drinks. but, my boyfriend does drink diet dr. pepper, diet dew and diet caffeine free diet coke with no problems. the main thing is to be aware of the amount of sugar involved. since you're drinking diet coke instead of the real stuff, you shouldn't have a problem.

Just thought I would mention that Diet Big Red also uses splenda. It tastes exactly like regular Big Red. But from what I've heard, Big Red is a southern thing so may not be available everywhere.
