Posted by: rachel at February 28, 2004 07:36 AMhey michelle - i took the instructions down, sorta at the request of the original knitter (i.e. the daughter of a copyright lawyer who is also a professor at my school - ahem - just kidding), but if you want a copy i can e-mail them to you. she was (justifiably) concerned about people who've dropped a bit of cash for her bags running across the post.
ah well.
however, this has whetted my appetite to try some more knitted purses!

Posted by: jess at February 28, 2004 09:47 PMI am looking for some easy purses to knit. I will be recently retired and think I would like to start knitting again. My mother, who is deceased, taught me years ago...but haven't done much these past few years.

Posted by: michelle at March 14, 2004 06:51 PMI am new to knitting and am really enjoying myself. I am making my sister a purse for her birthday, but don't understand how to sew the lining in. Any suggestions would be helpful! Thanks, oh and by the way I love your site!
Posted by: Maggie at March 17, 2004 12:24 PMi measured and then sewed the fabric lining on my sewing machine, then hand stitched it around the top to my knitted purse with clear/invisible thread (but depending on your colors, you certainly could use a thread that matched your yarn or fabric). i've heard about people machine sewing the lining to the knitted piece, but my machine is too dinky to handle that. i'm sure if you have a good machine it wouldn't be a problem.
