i've been suffering from a bad cold (which i thought was going to turn into the flu this weekend). i'm still not 100%, but a heck of a lot better than i was this weekend. and, might i add that thera-flu is liquid evil.
anyway... it's been colder than normal the past couple weeks, which inspired me to knit a warm scarf. i used a soft, wool-blend yarn in one color (officially called "wood." it has green/brown tones) and knit for six feet. to finish it off, i added my initial (in a light pink)... which i think is in fashion now, right? mine still needs work though, the "m" looks pretty sad. anyway, enjoy the monogram scarf!
Oooh lovely colour. It looks nice and cosey warm.
Hope you're feeling better. I had a "trying to be flu" type illness not long ago. It's not good. Much sympathy coming your way.
Your scarf is sooooooo cute!! I've been trying to settle on a first knitting project and I think I just found it. :)

Posted by: Amy at November 23, 2003 01:19 PMhi! I was thinking about doing the monogram thing on little bags for holiday gifts!
not quite sure about how to embroider cool looking letters though.
yours looks quite nice.
happy Thanksgiving weekend :)
the initial was hard to get right, and i'm still not entirely excited over how mine turned out. i sewed it on -- just kind of whip stitched it into one side of the scarf (i didn't want to have the reverse showing on the back side). when i finished that, i had the basic line but it wasn't thick enough, so i went back and did a blanket stitch over the first basic line. i think next time i'll try doing it with a crochet hook instead of a needle and see how that turns out. i'd also like a traditional embroidered letter -- instead of a sloppy free-hand one!
