for most of the past two weeks, my phone has been ringing up to six times a day, every day, at the same times. this has happened 30 times so far and when i answer no one is ever on the other end. and, it always says caller id blocked, so there is no one to blame.
at&t's solution to this problem was to change my phone number, which isn't a huge hassel, but one none-the-less. i started looking over my phone plan and my "contract" runs out at the end of august. for the past two years i've been getting ripped off by at&t so i've decided to drop them and go to t-mobile.
and, while we're at it i'm going to get a new techno-savvy phone. a camera phone. i can't decide which one -- between a nokia 3650 and a sony ericsson t610. i'm looking forward to something different for a change. i've had the same cell phone style for over five years now, and the most advanced thing it offers is sending/receiving emails/text-messages.
so -- has anyone got any horor stories (or good ones, of course) about t-mobile and/or either of the phones i mentioned (and how do they sync with mac's)? i've got til the end of august to make a decision.
I've used t-mobile for just over a year and it's been fine. No problems, but I haven't asked much of them either. I've never had a reason to call customer service so I can't say how nice they are, but I'm a happy camper.
Posted by: waxpop at August 1, 2003 04:43 PMI know someone who has the Sony Ericsson phone. I have total phone envy for it. It's lovely, and it syncs up with Outlook. I talked to a guy doing a consumer survey about the Nokia one, and he said that most people complained that the control pad was difficult to get used to.
Posted by: amandacharles at August 1, 2003 05:34 PMi'm in major love with the sony... but i've heard things about the display basically disappearing when you're outside in the sun...
Posted by: Michelle at August 1, 2003 07:36 PMThat happened to us, the phone thing. We decided not to change our years old phone number just to get away from the beaping that waw at the other end. It went away. We won

Posted by: Amanda at August 7, 2003 06:07 AMthose calls are from a telemarketer company whose job it is to check if you are home during those times... it's totally automatic.
Posted by: snowflake at August 18, 2003 12:46 PMI have a Sony Erickson, and I love it. It gets great reception where other cell phones don't.Plus it has some cool rings, and I can take pictures with it.
Posted by: Holly at August 20, 2003 11:58 AMI've got t-mobile, and I don't think I would go with them again. I got them because they said they get service all the way from Williamsburg to my parents house in Indiana, which is true, but locally the service is intermittent. Like certain parts of Williamsburg just do not get service, and other areas where I live, heck even my own house only gets one bar of signal in most rooms with t-mobile. But, their tech support is awesome.
