on the fourth of july, there's at least five separate fireworks displays potentially visible from the rooftop of this building. to the left, somewhere near warner brothers/toluca lake is the best view. to the right, cbs/studio city is the second best view. hidden by trees, but somewhat visible over their tops, are universal studios and the hollywood bowl. and, heard but not viewable from my vantage point, is burbank.
so, friday night i headed to the rooftop and waited for the sky to light up. with my head turning from right to left to catch two shows going on simultaneously, i was excited... but after maybe 15 to 20 minutes of slow, sporadic bursts of color from each direction, the big finale came and fourth of july was officially done. sad, but true. even the other three displays that i could barely see or hear didn't appear too spectacular. wonder why?
anyway, here's a re-enactment of my fourth of july, from right to left and back again...
Your pictures turned out WAY better than mine!
