the day was long and very tiring, but i finally arrived home last night. i am still beyond tired. both of my flights were entirely full, which surprised me since it was a wednesday morning and after memorial day -- i assumed few people would be traveling, especially out of burbank.
anyway, on my first flight a little latino family boarded... along with a two foot tall ceramic virgin mary statue, her bottom half wrapped and taped in a ceremonial bathroom towel. they looked really hard for a place to put mary, under the seats, above the seats, in their laps with no success... the stewardess finally told the man, who didn't speak any english (and had a hitler mustache, of all things!), that he couldn't hold mary between his knees -- she had to be stowed away properly. all of us around them just watched in bewilderment as this virgin mary statue was turned and moved to try and fit in various locations... we wondered if it was a good thing to have her aboard or a bad one. it definitely was a strange thing to see on an airplane.
at the burbank airport, the security man was running those little pieces of fabric over the luggage and checking for any residue that was suspicious. a lady in front of me asked him about it. he looked in both directions and over his shoulder before he whispered "it checks for particles that might be left from making a... bomb." he barely spoke the last word, just mouthed it... "i'm not even supposed to be talking about that, with the heightened security and all..." at least they're checking.

this place has been quiet for awhile... i've most likely been busy playing isketch, doing some other stuff for a project we're working on and packing/planning for my trip home.
i'm going home to alabama for my best friend's wedding. here's a photo of us kicking it at the birmingham zoo. i believe we're in the first grade on the annual "out of town for a day" field trip that we took every year in elementary school. to the zoo. in birmingham. for a whole day... (not fun.)

if you know what's best for you, do not click on the following link: isketch is a highly addictive online pictionary game. you will not be able to stop playing. i'm warning you! :) |all credit for finding all the good links goes to jon|

the vote is in: the reusablog challenge found the answer -- something lovely to do with that empty cd spool holder thingy that's been sitting on my desk for the better part of a year. hooray for reusablog!

1. what drinking water do you prefer -- tap, bottle, purifier, etc.? filtered, by my brita pitcher.
2. what are your favourite flavor of chips? i guess either cheetos or sunchips (whatever their plain flavor is).
3. of all the things you can cook, what dish do you like the most? i don't ever cook it, but my all-time favorite dish is cornbeef, potatoes and cabbage that my mom fixes.
4. how do you have your eggs? scrambled. sometimes with shredded cheese on top.
5. who was the last person who cooked you a meal? how did it turn out? brain fart on this one for some reason... and totally blanked on the fact that jon cooks-out for dinner every saturday. :) always good.

jon had an idea and now we're in the process of developing a whole new site, devoted to the most popular thing on this site -- the "As Heard On TV" section of the forum. staring at html and css is giving me a headache.
so, in the mean time i'm taking a break from the new thing to change some things on this site. nothing major, just a little bit.
that's all. thanks for listening. back to work.

as if it isn't tempting enough to buy from amazon already, they've gone and put a little graphic enticing me to buy something that's actually on my wish list. just dangling it there in my face and saying "you know you want me, you need me, buy me." i hate that!

this is rather old news, but worth mention: honda accord "cog" commercial -- done in one continuous camera shot, after six hundred six tries.

1. would you consider yourself an organized person? why or why not? i like the idea of organization, and would consider myself organized, but am overwhelmed by it usually.
2. do you keep some type of planner, organizer, calendar, etc. with you, and do you use it regularly? i keep a calendar that serves as everything and goes with me when i'll need it.
3. would you say that your desk is organized right now? it's messy but organized. i know where everything is and everything has a certain spot to be in.
4. do you alphabetize cds, books, and dvds, or does it not matter?i keep my cds in order, but that's it. jon keeps my dvds in order since it bothers him more than it does me. :)
5. what's the hardest thing you've ever had to organize? my recipe collection. it is completely out of control.

i know i didn't just watch martha make marble magnets! i'm not sure who came up with the idea in the first place, but she sure didn't... and it came off like her little craft department did. anyway, all us crafty girls know better. here's her version: "decorative" magnets.
