i finished my first ever knitted purse! (pictures coming soon.) i have to line it and maybe add a zipper, i can't decide.

has anyone ever knit a purse and found it to be too stretchy? i want a tight stitch that i wouldn't have to bother with lining...

be on the lookout for aol tins arriving in a mailbox near you! i just got a new "silver" one in the mail today!! hooray!

if you remember, i fancied up an old aol tin i had sitting around. it's still in use today, holding my stamps and return address labels.

ps: if you get one and don't want it, you can send it to me and i'll send you something special in return. same goes for empty altoid tins. :)

i have received three items from postcardX.net in the past two weeks! that's more than i ever received on the old version of the site.

all three consisted of homemade envelopes, which i really love and have inspired me to make my own from now on. one's contents was an interesting recipe for "mozzarella meatloaf," another had string and instructions for "string figures," and the latest had a cute bunny applique. how much fun!!

a day in the life is a photo-blog with "a new photo every day, a new location every week."

includes, not to mention a cool concept, but some really great photos from around the world -- not just stuff you'd recognize (like the eiffel tower, for example), but everyday stuff in oridinary lives: someone going home on the paris metro.

i just got a crock-pot for christmas, and i'm real anxious to put it to use. i find it a bit mysterious, since you just put all your ingredients in it and leave it for several hours to auto-magically make a meal. here's a good resource for everything crock-pot: how-to's, recipes, tips, etc...

so, maybe you've noticed that things look different around here. yes, time for a new look.

i've basically simplified everything as much as i can: created a few new sections made up of old sections, changed graphics, etc... i'm happy with it, so far.

here's a craft project i did (along with mom) over the holidays. we saw them on the carol duvall show on hgtv and thought they were cute. really easy to make and pretty inexpensive.

what's the deal with random people leaving mean comments on my site recently?

i've had one tell me they hope i "go to hell" because i shared my opinion regarding religion. it's close-minded people like them that i was complaining about in the first place.

second, someone told me to f-off because i didn't have the "facks" (their spelling, not mine) straight regarding skipping school to smoke pot. hmm...

hope everyone had a fun night. i (finally) got to hang out with a friend for the first time in a year -- we went to dinner at one of the best mexican restaurants in town and then to a movie, "maid in manhattan" (which was cute).

today, i'm parked half way in front of the computer and half way in front of the tv for the lsu bowl game and auburn bowl game. go tigers (x2)!
