i just got a crock-pot for christmas, and i'm real anxious to put it to use. i find it a bit mysterious, since you just put all your ingredients in it and leave it for several hours to auto-magically make a meal. here's a good resource for everything crock-pot: how-to's, recipes, tips, etc...
I've got a great recipe for "Jewish" chicken soup in the crock-pot, virtually guaranteed to cure everything that ails you! Email me if you want me to give it to you.
Posted by: Mandie at January 21, 2003 03:24 PMI use the crockpot very often! Lora Brody has a good book with unusual recipes -- rice pudding, dulce de leche, carmelized onions or garlic -- pantry ingredients for use in other recipes, as well as crockpot staples like stews or beans.

I also like some of the recipes in the little book you get with the crockpot, esp. chicken parisienne (chicken with white wine or sherry, cream of mushroom soup, mushrooms, add sour cream or yogurt mixed with a spoonful of flour at the end).
Posted by: Anita Rowland at January 21, 2003 03:32 PMThanks for these. I just received my Christmas Crock Pot yesterday! And - surprise - it came with a Little Dipper.
I was just at Crock-Pot.com, and they've got some recipes there, too. Though I don't know if they're the same as in the booklet, haven't had a chance to look at it yet...
Posted by: jennie at January 21, 2003 06:59 PMCooking Light also has some great slow-cooker foods including a great recipe for an oven stuffer roaster (the chicken literally falls off the bone).
Posted by: Jessica at January 21, 2003 07:09 PMi get cooking light, and i can't say that i've ever seen a crock-pot recipe featured in there -- it could be that i've overlooked them, though...
Posted by: Michelle at January 21, 2003 11:25 PMI finally got that recipe up on my site, only one month later. LOL http://www.mandieleigh.com/journal/000389.html
