this is officially my last post for the year. so i thought i'd get one in before i forget.

i hope everyone gets off to a good start for 2003 (2003?? geez... 15 years ago, i thought we'd be driving spaceships by now!!)

anyway... :) everyone have a safe celebration!!

i'm still alive and kicking. barely. every day is filled to the brim with errands to run, things to do. between cooking for my dad's store holiday dinner and shopping, i'm so incredibly tired! surely by the time i return to los angeles i'll return to my "regular" entries and actually read/comment on my new forum.

i finally made it to huntsville, after a full day of travel yesterday. my flights were pretty bouncy.

my first flight, i shared a row with a girl who frantically was searching for a pen. the way she was scoping out everyone around us, i thought she had some really important thing to write down so she wouldn't forget it... when she finally got a pen from the lady behind us she said, "i'll give it right back!" then, proceeded to do crosswords (from one of those crossword puzzle books) for the entire flight.

my second flight i saw next to a guy who smelled kind of weird and touched his knee to mine for the flight. i don't think he noticed, though, he just had his legs real far apart... like guys do, you know?

i felt safe when about 15 grannies climbed on board with us for one of the flights.

i stepped out of nashville's airport and saw my breath in front of me for the first time in forever. now it's just going to take some getting used to the actual weather -- cold and rainy. maybe some snow is in store? i hope so!

this is a new feature of quidnunc.org. basically a place to share our ideas on topics that are often mentioned here: cooking, travel, knitting, general crafts and music.

i'm not sure what to expect of this, but we'll let it run til the end of the year at least. hopefully it will catch on and be a good place to learn and share.

this time tomorrow, i'll have landed in nashville and be on the road home to huntsville, al. for three + weeks of holiday celebration.

i had a major brain fart regarding above said travel. i was under the assumption that i was leaving on a plane tomorrow around noon. randomly, an hour or so ago, i checked my itinerary online... my plane leaves at 845 am!!!

ugh. i cannot believe i almost was going to be four hours late. what is wrong with me?

many thanks to jon for completely rebuilding/re-drawing my logos for quidnunc.org and other super-secret stuff. they look a whole lot better now thanks to him!

and, speaking of super-secret stuff... we've been working on a brand-spanking new area to add to this site and try out. it may be a whole lot of nothing or something really good. but it's coming soon... very, very soon.

hallelujah!! my christmas cards are finally finished and ready to mail.

the next time i say i'm going to make my own cards, remind me of this year and how much i did not enjoy the whole process. thanks.

this is the most impressive and fun online advent calendar i've seen.

about six weeks later, as promised, the thermacare "menstral" heat wrap that i signed up to receive for free showed up today. too late for this month, but i'm ready for the next one! woo-hoo.

today is my dad's birthday.
