there's something very strange about shipping your luggage ahead of time via a postal carrier. since i lost my luggage a couple years ago on southwest i've always been a little aprehensive about checking luggage. i'd have to say that worrying about my luggage showing up on the arrivals carousel is almost as nerve-wracking as flying itself.
so, after pondering the process for awhile, i decided this was the option. not only was i packing in a tiny suitcase to begin with, but i had to figure out what to pack two weeks in advance for weather that's 2000 miles east of my normal 65 degree southern california "winter." challenge indeed.
Oh, good luck! I'm sure it'll be much less stressful than checking your bags in the end.
Posted by: Jennie at November 30, 2002 09:31 AMi hope so. as long as UPS doesn't screw it up...
Posted by: Michelle at November 30, 2002 10:32 AMUPS has to scan it every time it changes hands so if it does get lost at least you'll know where to start looking (and yelling).
Posted by: Michelle W. at December 1, 2002 02:05 PMthe only deciding factor for using UPS is that the last time i shipped a big box i used USPS and they lost it.
i have no luck with things arriving where they're intended to, apparently. :)
