I like them on the commercial, but maybe part of the appeal is the abundance? (same deal with yarn, fabric, silk flowers) We see all these charming young folk wearing them and dancing around. If I had a sweater, hat, scarf, bag, of this type, I'd still be wearing it among people wearing regular clothing.

last night, i spent at least 30 minutes writing down a description of each striped scarf (and the bags) in my craft-ideas-notebook. now i just need to figure out a basic pattern to follow and i can open up my own gap scarf store!! (although, at the rate i knit, my store will only have one scarf in it...)
