speaking of recent events, what is up with these school shootings/threats? what happened to good old fashion fist fights? the thought never crossed my mind in high school (or elementary or middle), that someone might be carrying a gun on them. during my senior year at huntsville high metal detectors were placed at one entrance for one day. we thought it was ridiculous but went along just assuming somebody was paranoid of knives or something. what i think is the saddest of all is how desensitized i am to the news of such events now. it doesn't shock me anymore.
