crazy locals

i mentioned a couple days ago that i've been found out by some other huntsville bloggers. there's a handful that i know of, so far: there's eric, pat, terry, samuel, the wondergeeks and sydney. and, i'm not the only girl! :)

good music

i've been listening to the "5th element" soundtrack tonight. it's actually pretty good stuff.

clone

have you seen those cute little cartoon likenesses of people around the web? they're from a site called stor. the characters are called "stortroopers" and i made one of myself... you should too. it's really fun.

jon's redesign

jon redesigned his site -- ultra hip, go check it out!

sugar high

i've been lying in bed since before midnight and have yet to fall asleep. it's got to be the sugar overload i got from eating too many conversation hearts earlier tonight... that might also explain why i don't feel so good.

dying not good for you?

one of my favorite indulgences may cause bladder cancer... i guess i should rethink that going blonde fantasy of mine, eh?

amazon gift

steve won $250 from amazon just for having a wishlist and a bday. how crazy is that? i hope my bday is the only one with a wishlist come october.

hunts blogs

for some reason, all of a sudden, huntsville bloggers are popping up everywhere. just this week alone, i've had three fellow huntsblogs contact me. and i'm beginning to wonder if i'm the only girl...

world news

excuse me? don't pat me on the bottom unless your allowed to. and just b/c i might want to wear tight jeans does not mean i want to have sex! what a lousy court over there in italy.

throw me in the thames

this is the exact reason i want to be cremated -- to avoid being buried alive. ``The fact that they didn't take her to the hospital, just assumed she was dead, is the big mistake,'' said Dr. Murray Hamlet, a hypothermia resuscitation expert. ``People have to understand that cold, stiff, blue people can be resuscitated.''

blue people?? :)

happy 3-0 to my bro!

to celebrate steve's milestone of sorts, turning 30 today, i ventured up into my parents' slide collection of years gone by. i managed to dig up some really fantastic photos of one young steve jr.

local bham music

i went to birmingham saturday night for a concert. amy's cousin's band was playing at a hole in the wall bar downtown. we found out that his band should be going on around 1130, so amy and i headed to our favorite bar for a round and to talk. 1130 comes and we drive to the bar which is only a street over. jason's band hasn't started playing. in fact, the first band (out of the three playing that night) was just setting up on stage! so, we sat through two incredibly lame bands waiting for bad luck star to perform. finally at around 130 am they started. they were worth the wait since i enjoyed them, but i could have handled them playing a little earlier. by the time we hung out afterward and drove back to amy's house it was 4 am.

presidential cartoon

i'm cleaning out my bookmarks, and i found a funny link. so in honor of america's upcoming presidential inauguration next week, here's a cartoon.

castaway

tonight, i went to see CASTAWAY with my dad. it was a long movie, about two and a half hours, but i really only noticed b/c i started getting uncomfortable in the chair. i was quite disappointed going in having seen the trailers on tv, thus knowing most of the outcome/jist of the movie. but i enjoyed it still. the time spent on the island was very interesting and entertaining. the portions when no dialogue is exchanged was pretty inventive -- i guess i was amazed that so very little could be said and still convey or express what was being felt by the character.

i doubt i'd be able to survive for very long on a deserted island.

colds

i am dealing with an annoying cold right now -- probably due to the fact that i'm anti-hair-drying girl these days, and i keep going outside in the cold weather. bad michelle. back to normal soon, i hope.

david gray

while i was out on a driving excursion 30 minutes north of huntsville yesterday, i listened to david gray. my oldest bro has the cd and played it one time in the car. i asked for it for xmas. i really love it. it's tracy chapman meets edwin mccain meets rufus wainwright. quite a combo, but that's the vibe it gives me.

happy new year!

the snow hasn't stopped yet today. it's beautiful to watch snow fall. there is at least an inch and a half on the ground. (although that's pure guess, since i'm not about to go outside and check for myself.)
